Remarks & Notes |
In the early 1900s, Maine's 2-foot railroads were expanding their lines to serve more and more rural communities. Here, a WW&F Forney engine switches a flat-load of railroad ties in Sheepscot Yard as it makes up a work train. Fast-forward nearly a century and it's deja-vu. This load of ties will actually be used to expand the WW&F Railway Museum's trackage, as they continue to rebuild the line along the historic right-of-way. |
