Sometimes the best photos can be found right under your nose. It was the warmest day in Anchorage in at least 10 days, today, with a high of -1 degrees! The sky was clear and crisp and the ice crystals cling to everything shrouding the world in sheer brilliance. These otherwise small and spindly shrubs in the parking lot take on a whole new beauty providing the perfect frame for this single switch engine idling away on the new TOFC ramp track.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
