Ahh, Townwood. One of my favorite places to just "sit and watch." Even though nearby Leipsic has the added bonus of CSX's Toledo Subdivision, I find this middle-of-nowhere spot to be much more relaxing and enjoyable for photography, especially in the morning and evening hours. On one of those late autumn mornings, a westbound coal train is seen greeting a gorgeous golden sunrise as it passes the bracket mast signal on the former Nickel Plate Road.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
