Remarks & Notes |
Looking north from atop a covered hopper of flour provides an interesting panorama of the Anchorage classification yard. To the left can be seen surplus and stored power tied up on the ready tracks including the sold MP15s, an F4oPH power car, an SD70MAC, and a GP40-2. To the right of the power are assorted track machines resting around the "Doll House" where they are maintained. Then in the background the mighty Chugach range surrounds the city. In the immediate foreground is another load of flour that is floated up by barge and is trans-loaded here by the ARR and trucked to the Sunrise Bakery (local bakers of Wonder Bread) in downtown Anchorage |
