Desolate. No other word better describes Coyote Basin in northeastern Utah; stretching all the way to the aptly-named Seep Ridge in the distance, the only signs of human life are scattered gas wells, a few roads, some power lines... and the Deseret Power Railway. In the golden last light of a hot summer day, a loaded train quietly rolls over the summit of the climb out of the basin. Ahead lie the last seven miles of track before the end of the line at Bonanza Power Plant.
