Remarks & Notes |
Weyerhaeuser Landfill Train with the WTCX #307 and company are about to exit the Weyerhaeuser Ostrander canyon that on an approx. 6% grade. This train is returning empty to haul another load of waste from the Weyerhaeuser Mill in Longview Washington. It is almost another 9 miles from Longview Mill. This grade is the final test for the train coming out of the Ostrander canyon as it is a curvy and winding 3 and 1/2 miles to traverse the canyon. One can smell the brake shoe exhaust as the train eases down the grade. Ostrander creek seen left, winds its' way through the hills flowing down to the Colwitz River about 4 miles from this location. |
