Borrowed Light! A rare opportunity to light up the bridge at Sunset Falls presented it self during this years Tracks In The Snow event. Quite an adventure packing in and out 4 lights and batteries in the dark. Standing in wait of an expected train, with only the warning of a FRED chirp over the radio. Four of us could only open our shutters and wait for the flash before ending the exposure. My thanks to Jeff Robertson for his light equipment and the Canadian contingent that did most of the work. Click Here for a photo of another interesting bridge with an interesting train.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
