Under a crescent moon, this US&S Type TR-2 "tri-light" stands guard along the former SAL/CG interlocking. The SAL used to be CTC from Birmingham to Atlanta, but was abandoned by CSX in 1989. The right of way was sold to the GA DOT to prevent the BN from acquiring a line into Atlanta. The right of way is now leased out and run as the Silver Comet Trail.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
