Railgon Incorporated on May 24, 1979 as the Railgon Company, Railgon would go on to acquire a fleet of standardized, high-quality gondola cars that were pooled and could be freely reloaded for optimal efficiency, just like their Railbox counterparts. These gondolas could be used by multiple railroads without having to deadhead (return to their origin empty), which was required under the pre-Staggers Act regulatory regime. This particular gondola was built by Pullman Standard in 1981 and carried the distinctive Railgon logo.
