Remarks & Notes |
Beamish Museum is holding a four day Power from the Past event over this weekend. Star attraction is the newly restored "Coffee Pot" which was originally built in 1871 and worked til the mid 60's in a limestone quarry. Here its driver is taking a rest at the end of the sidings. The wagons in tow are called Chaldron wagons and were the original design of coal wagon in the 18th century, many were still in use well into the 20th century. |
