During one of the worst central Illinois winters in memory, a northbound "slingshot" piggyback train, powered by ICG GP35 2501, became mired in snowdrifts south of Springfield. GM&O F3s 800B and 805A ran light southward from Bloomington to attempt a rescue. In a view from the second story of the Springfield passenger station, 805A and 800B drag the pig train northward. I distinctly remember the headend crew on the 805A scraping the frost off of the inside of the old F unit's windshield.
