In 1994-1995, SP's new C44-9W's looked great leading iron ore trains between Minntac, Minnesota and Geneva Steel in Utah. These classy new units were quickly replaced by hoards of brand new GE AC4400CW's within weeks of this Kodachrome photograph. It was a great show while it lasted! On the return trip to Minnesota, the SP would often run sets of three 8100's east from Geneva with 105 empties. Here the 8150 and company head through Mud Cut near Mapleton on a beautiful spring afternoon in of April 1995.
