Not many railfans frequent the lines in Eastern NC between CSX's A-Line and the coast. The light traffic levels mean one either needs a lot of luck, patience, or both. Fortunately, I was lucky on this evening and caught a local returning from Chocowinity almost at the end of its trip crossing the 5700 ft long Neuse River bridge. After the train has passed, the bridge operator will open the span for boat traffic and walk back to his truck. Just a few minutes before, 9074 can be seen clearing 100s if not 1000s of seagulls off the span by CLICKING HERE.
