7am and still virtually dark on a freezing foggy November morning in Fuxin, China. SY Class No 1378 is ready with a loaded train of coal. Once scenes like this were common all over the world certainly I can remember similar scenes from childhood. This was perhaps my last chance to savour (and literally taste) the atmosphere of working industrial steam, I hope the shot conveys all that makes working steam so unique and scenes like this just a memory.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
