An empty trash train bends east, awaiting the Arthur Kill vertical lift bridge (unfortunately, not in this rendering, but according to Wikipedia, "the largest vertical lift bridge in the world, with two towers of 215 feet each, and a truss span of 135 feet in height and 558 feet in length.)" The line and bridge are CSX- owned (built by B&O), and I am told this is a Conrail Shared Assets Operations train, although it looks like a NS patch on the geep from 3000 feet or so in the air.
Sidenote: How must it be to live in those residences just to the south, with trash trains and a water treatment plant just feet north of you ...?!?
