Being from "back east," it took me a while to learn the extremes of western weather. One such lesson was learned in mid-September of 1995 on a trip to the Powder River Basin. I really hadn't planned on snow. But, snow it was and it made the trip that much more enjoyable. On Sept, 20th, an eastbound (geographic south) UP unit coal train slugged upgrade past East Coal Creek, WY, led by CNW C40-8 No. 8538.
