The 8923, built for the New York Central in 1951, was H&MC's backup unit for their regular SW9, the 8933, for several years, but to my knowledge, it spent most or all of that time sitting behind a fence on a spur along the line, making acceptable photography of the unit nearly impossible. It is seen here spotted in the open at the north end of the H&MC's yard where they interchange with NS. Unfortunately, the reason the locomotive was parked here was so it could be scrapped, which happened a few days later.
