Escaping the Scrapper. While lots of people retire to Florida, these 2 former MBTA workhorses have retired to Maine. 0622, built by Hawker-Siddeley, served for 30 years on the blue line. 3424, built by Boeing, served for over 25 years on the green line. Most of their peers were scrapped, but 3424 and 0622 were purchased by the Seashore Trolley Museum, where they stand today. Special thanks to Seashore for hosting this night photo shoot!
The MBTA is very dear to me. The first trains I ever rode as a toddle to teenager were those of the "T" Here is a collection of MBTA Subway and trolley I have found on RP from the 60's thru today.
