About 75 miles east of Reno Nevada. The westbound California Zephyr was struck by a empty gravel semi. I took this photo withen about 5 minutes of the train stopping. I ran to the front expecting to see damage to the unit. Not two superliners torn open with fire roaring in them. I was riding in the third superliner of this train. This view shows the start of the fire on the transition sleeper, and the coach is not yet fully engulfed in flames. The damage done by the truck is more or less clearly seen here.
