Northern Pacific 4-8-4 2604 was one of twelve Class A 4-8-4s built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1926. They had 73" drivers, 28 x 30 inch cylinders, boiler pressure of 210 lbs, and could exert 57,511 lbs of tractive effort. Most of the class were eventually converted to oil-firing and had their booster engines removed in the late 1940s. This image from my collection was taken at Glendive, Montana.
