In September 2000, a project was launched by the DB-AG called “apprentices against hatred and violence”. In the frame of this project work, all apprentices of the DB discussed subjects such as violence, right-extremism and hostility against foreigners. The aim of the project is the promotion of civil courage and a friendly cooperation. In 2005, the idea of the vocational training group KfV 04 in Frankfurt/Main was awarded a price: a locomotive makes publicity for a tolerant life together in Europe. The locomotive 101 101-4 has been choosen to support this. From October 2005 onwards, this locomotive will act as a “special ambassador” and promote these subjects in Germany and in Austria.
