This C&O cantilever protects the EEDT (East End of Double Track) at Rockland with a pair of double red aspects. Pictured are Second Creek Tunnel, and visible through it is the East portal of Fort Spring Tunnel. Also quite interesting, is that the C&O decided that running the code lines over the mountain was better than through a 2067' tunnel. A 20 minute exposure at f6.3, ISO 400 taken from an off track spot by the switch.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
