Remarks & Notes |
Scenic line indeed. A legacy D&RGW logo on south face of the Mineral Creek Bridge states the obvious as we watch Train 464 in the process of being wyed for the return trip to Durango. This simple girder bridge just a mile or so from downtown Silverton shows more than a few signs of its long years of service with the D&RGW and the DSNG. At least a couple of wide loads have clearly left their mark on some of the gusset plates on either side. I suspect that few of the passengers on the Silverton trains ever notice the logo you see here. Kudos to the DSNG MOW folks for maintaining this little reminder of their heritage. |
