Southbound to Sheepscot. With every piece of the WW&F Museum's passenger equipment trailing behind her, Locomotive #10 drifts through Cockeye Curve on the southbound run from Alna Center to Sheepscot Station. During the museum's 2011 Victorian Christmas event, all of the mid-day trains were absolutely at capacity and all of the available rolling stock was pressed into service, including the open excursion car that can be seen just ahead of the caboose. Although that car is normally reserved for summertime operations, and the ride this day was rather brisk, there were no shortage of patrons willing to brave the chill for a chance to see Santa Claus at Alna Center. Train crewmembers told me that the theoretical capacity of this train is about 150 people, but their passenger counts often surpassed that as there were lots of excited little kids sitting on parent's laps.
