New England Central Railroad, the Providence & Worcester and the Vermont Rail System officials were joined by state legislators and transportation committee members on an office car special that ran from Montpelier Jct., VT to Worcester, MA, utilizing NECR GP38 3857, P&W E9B 668, "Connecticut" (PW 3840), "Massachusetts" (PW 4587) and the "New Englander" round-end observation (PW 90). The sun preceded the train by about 10 seconds, but either way, the OCS-1 is seen running passenger speed along Mud Pond, despite the lack of mud...
