Remarks & Notes |
Steamscape - Pratt Cove. A New Haven Freight treks south along one of the many little coves that line the mighty Connecticut River. This scene might have been a common one through much of the first half of the 20th century, when the Connecticut Valley line was a busy branch of the New Haven system. By the mid 1900s however, this line had fallen into dis-use and is today owned by the State of Connecticut and leased to the present-day Valley Railroad for use in tourist operations. The cove you see is known as Pratt Cove, and is maintained by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection as a nature preserve. This re-creation was made possible by The Valley Railroad and Lerro Productions. |
