The glow of Alna Center station's kerosene lanterns is the only light source for miles, until the last train of the day arrives. Greetings and paperwork are exchanged, and the train heads south to into the darkness, and the Wiscasset waterfront. Actually, this scene was part of a calendar shoot, but for the few moments while it was happening, during the collective silence, one could easily imagine being there 80 odd years ago. www.wwfry.org
