Beacon in the night Duplainville tower on a pleasant, but cool evening in March 1984. Tower operator Tom Kidd has his 8-pack of Diet Pepsi's cooling outside on the railing. He informs us that no trains are around, but the old Milwaukee Road tower itself is interesting enough. I lit the tower with a couple of good old 5B flashbulbs, and during each flash, Tom would change the train order signal to another color, thinking that each flash was a different photograph. Regardless, I never did capture that signal with a true red or yellow aspect!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
