It's already a hot and humid morning as the turn out of Chester makes its way back home after dropping it's train of interchange cars at Richburg for the local switch crew.
Seeing the L&C again realized a long held wish, as it was one of the first railroads that I can remember. My father's family is from Lancaster and during his visits back "home" to grandma, I would walk the 5 or 6 blocks to the station and watch the switchers move cars around town. It took a little longer than 40 years to see the road again, and while the South has greatly changed, the L&C still has a lot of character and friendliness….and a special place in my heart.
