Well, the A4s finally got to the UK. 60008 Dwight D. Eisenhower from Green Bay, WI and 60010 Dominion of Canada from Montreal. Here we see them lined up with home based 60009 Union of South Africa, in sequential order, for a once-in-a-lifetime photoshoot at the National Railway Museum annex at Locomotion, Shildon, Co Durham. All three locos are in British Railways green. In the next two weeks, 60010 will be painted into LNER blue and the shot can never be repeated. An amazing sight, which is a curtain raiserf or the line up of all six surviving A4s next year. I haven't seen 60008 and 60010 since August 1962, when they were still in service. Fifty years ago!
