This engine was, at first, bought for spare parts because it was in scrap condition. However, the Buckingham Branch's mechanics tinkered with it and got it running so it became their second locomotive and first GP16.
The "BB" was founded in 1988 and ran its first train on March 6, 1989. The BB has grown from 17 miles of track and two employees to 275 miles and 75 employees, spanning over Virginia in three separate divisions.
A collection of engines, cabooses, cars, etc., great and small that are past their prime, but represent a spirit of railroading that will never pass away!!
