SWPC SD60 #416 leaves the Bell Mountain Quarry with another train of clinker for the cement plant in Victorville. The Southwestern Portland Cement Railroad has been in operation for nearly a century, transporting quarried rock from various sites to the massive cement factory along the BNSF mainline in Victorville. The current quarry at Bell Mountain has been in use for decades, and the railroad to this quarry has always been home to big diesel power and heavy trains. The current roster includes this unit, 416, a recent purchase from Union Pacific (it still displays its UP number 2125 in the numberboards). This unit is the largest on the SWPC roster and is the only power lettered for CEMEX, the current owner of the cement company.
