The sun has already set as a Trona Railway train smokes it up as it arrives at Searles, California, on March 15, 2004, powered by six big EMDs with Union Pacific and Santa Fe ancestry. Darkness will fall as the train is interchanged to the UP at this remote location.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Photos by some of the best railroad still photographers in North America. These photographers must have a significant impact on the art form and have been shooting (or shot in the past) for at least 10 years.
