Remarks & Notes 
While it looks like a Pennsy E-8, on Oct. 7, 1968 the 4274, looking the worse for wear, was actually Penn Central leading 4-car Train 14 from always-busy Chicago Union Station en route to Detroit and Buffalo. P-C was born on Jan. 31 that year and the 4274 would become Amtrak in less than three more years. Note the first car, a double-door mail or express box car. A CB&Q switcher was at work on the left as a GM&O Alco drug its cars from CUS on the right.
