On a warm summer night, an old Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines position light signal attempts to protect the track at Cold Spring, NJ, but at least two of its bulbs have burned out. Nevertheless, a train is not likely to utilize this line in at least the near future. This stretch of track is currently a part of the Cape May Seashore Lines’ line between Rio Grande and Cape May City, however it has not seen a train since 2011 due to vandalism of spikes and tie plates on nearly 7,000 feet of track further north on the line, which has left this portion of the line isolated. Cape May Seashore Lines is hopeful to restore service by late summer of 2013.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
