Destination: Greenbank. Fireman Steve Jensen Jr. leans out of the cab for a clearer view of the yard entrance ahead, as the Wilmington & Western 4-4-0 #98 withdraws its passenger consist from the train shed in the Marshallton Yard. It's just about 6:20 PM and the crew is heading over to Greenbank Station to make a 7:00 PM departure for Hockessin with the annual Fireworks Train.
The Wilmington & Western is one of the few tourist railroads that is fortunate to have the facilities to be able to keep both their locomotives and their rolling stock indoors when not in use. That keeps their signature "B&O Blue" passenger cars looking spiffy year after year. Other notable elements in this scene include Diesel Locomotive #915, an SW900, which can be seen in the doorway of the shed. Just to the right of the steam engine sits the tender of another steam engine, the former Canadian National #92, a 2-6-0 Mogul, which is currently stored out of service elsewhere in the yard.
