With track #26 clear in Trapp Yard, this gave me a rare opportunity to get the better side of SRY’s deadline. SRY 383 leads the deadline, followed by SRY 1205 (GMD1m), SRY 908 (SW900RS), RPRX 2001 (GGS2000D, Green Goat), SRY 1203 (GMD1m), SRY 1201 (GMD1m), and SRY 1204 (GMD1m). The 383 has definitely seen better days and hasn’t run for many years with some serious mechanical issues. It is used mainly for parts for the other three SD38’s SRY has. The GMD1 era at SRY did not work out well. After being purchased in 2006, there were constant issues with all the locomotives (1205 has yet to turn a wheel at the SRY) to eventually them all being taken out of service, except for SRY 1202. The original Green Goat prototype has been sitting in SRY’s deadline for about seven years as well, and it looks as if it will stay there for a while. SRY 908 rounds out the odd bunch as it is used mainly for parts.
