Remarks & Notes
Amtrak’s Empire Builder approaches the summit of Marias Pass east of Bison, Montana, on October 9, 1996. Morning sun glints brightly off the sides of stainless steel Superliner cars as the train passes over a large curved fill, while a pair of horses contently graze the morning away in the foreground.
