Class Act by a Class 1: It's not everyday that you will find Class 1 freight locomotives on a passenger train, much less on a tourist train! However, for the two weekend annual visit of Thomas the Tank Engine to the Lebanon, Mason & Monroe Railroad in Lebanon, Norfolk Southern generously provided the use of GP38-3 rebuild NS 5805 to provide the motive power for the trips, giving the LM&M's regular unit, GP7 55, a much needed break, and showing how much of a class act they really are. In this view, we are on the platform at the depot in Lebanon as NS 5805 throttles up to depart town with the final trip of the day. Thomas is on the other end of the train, and will lead on the return trip. Special thanks to Norfolk Southern Corp. and the Lebanon, Mason & Monroe Railroad for making the dreams of so many children come true!
