Built in March, 1969 as a GP40 for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, it was rebuilt to a GP38AC in 1988 and sold to the Central Michigan Railroad shortly after. Today this locomotive is seen resting in front of the original Grand Trunk Western locomotive shed with HESR 2661. Shortly after I pulled up in my mini van and snapped this photo, the logo on the side was patched over, and the locomotive was renumbered to HESR 2026. Soon she will be sporting a coat of bright orange paint and will look like a new locomotive all over again.
