Arriving in Alamosa early (round trip to La Veta was shortened to Fir due to freight train derailment), the San Luis and Rio Grande’s La Veta passenger train, led by EMD FP10 No. 1100, brings the train toward the depot on the afternoon of August 31, 2013.
While Colorado's narrow gauge steam railroads are the major draw, the state is also home to several diesel-powered tourist railroads that take passengers to the Royal Gorge and other sites.
