Virginia Division local train number V17's power passes underneath one of Norfolk's "The Tide" light rail train sets. The next bridge is Interstate 264, and the new Amtrak station at Harbor Park can be seen in the distance. This was once a busy area for Norfolk passenger trains, as it was the former site of Norfolk Terminal Station, which served the Norfolk and Western, Virginian, and original Norfolk Southern railways. The scene has changed quite a bit since the demolition of Terminal Station in the early 1960's, but with the addition of The Tide and restoration of Amtrak service a year ago, this area once again boasts three different brands of rail service.
