Track gang 9049 follows TRT-909 (Track Renewal Train) laying down an all new main line with welded rail and concrete ties east of Radium, Colorado, on August 6, 2009. In the background lurking at the west end of Little Gore Canyon a Union Pacific welded rail train picking up the used 1/4-mile length welded rail left just to the outside of the ties by the TRT. After adding some ballast and more surfacing, what’s left behind is a first-rate main line.
Photo albums dedicated to the Men, and Women that keep the Railroad running around the clock 365 days a year. From Dispatcher to Track Gangs, these are the people that make the railroad moves!
A tribute of appreciation to the workers who maintain the track, keeping our railways in shape regardless of weather and danger, and keeping them running effeciently.
