The tracks of the Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway on the way down in the Poschiavo valley, usually in a gradient of 7%, is to follow here on several kilometers. From the Bernina pass at the top left the line comes to Alp Grüm with the distinctive stone station building, then changes direction by 180 degrees in the panoramic curve and leads in the opposite direction along the slope, partially protected by avalanche galleries, and then through the 254 m long Palü tunnel change direction again. Bernina Express train 1625 with electric railcars ABe 4/4 # 53 and 52 can be seen on the lowest level just before enterring the 289 m long Stablinitunnel. In the foreground the building of the hydroelectric plant "Palü" of REPower, which exploits the gaps between Lago Bianco on the Bernina Pass and Lake Palü and also is able to pump water up again.
