Pioneer diesel at Exporail. CN 77 (originally CN 7700) was CN's first diesel switcher (delivered in 1930). It was built by CLC (Canadian Locomotive Company) in Kingston, Ontario to a Westinghouse design. It featured what was advertised as a 'visibility cab car body' which allowed the engineer to see in both directions and was an improvement over boxcab designs of the time.
