With peak foliage bursting in the sunlight, I took to the overnight on Friday to capture the St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railway's eastbound train 394 rolling through the very picturesque northern Vermont community of Island Pond. The churches in town and the overhead pedestrian covered bridge make this a favorite location of mine, however the train's predictability often makes the location challenging. This particular night the evening arrival at Island Pond turned into an almost 02:00 arrival, but the end result was worth the bit of extra wait - though Bullwinkle was less than impressed with my setup and presence. He got over it and left...thankfully. Shot with 4 Alien Bees B1600 flash units and crew notified well in advance (since someone ALWAYS asks), but later reported seeing what looked like less than a a lightning flash to them - NOT blinding.
