Ab 608 was built by NZR Addington (Christchurch) in 1915 and named "Passchendaele" in 1925 as a War Memorial for over 400 railwaymen who perished in WW1. It is now owned by NZ Railway & Locomotive Society who restored it for the centenary. Public response during the Heartland Tour of North Island was fantastic. The train here is turning at Napier ready for the run to next stopover at Feilding.
