Saturdays on the Delaware Lackawanna usually means a PT98 run down the Pocono main to interchange with Norfolk Southern, but on Saturday November 8th the plan was a little different. There was a cut of about 50 empty grain cars in the yard, and sand loads to go north to Carbondale. So instead of the usual PT98, a SB3 crew dropped off the empty grain at Taylor and brought the sand up the Carbondale Branch. Here, SB3 is fresh out of Scranton heading through downtown Scranton on the Carbondale Branch.
