The triple searchlights at Milepost 374.4 on Union Pacific's Mojave Sub stand tall on their final night of being lit.
As of today, November 17th 2014, the last of the searchlights (between Milepost 372.7 and South Mojave) have been taken out of service. The signal bridge at Milepost 377 has been removed and destroyed. Certainly sad way for these veterans from the days of the SP to fall.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
