Unlike this past years Toys for Tots train the weather was not cooperative with heavy showers in forecast for the day, despite the rain many generous individuals and families still made it a point to come out and donate. With an astounding 8,100 donations on day one, the 2014 Toys for Tots operation is off to a great start as there are still two more days for collecting along the Middletown and New Jersey Railroad in New York and the Morristown and Erie back in Jersey next weekend.
Although most only provide freight service, regional railroads have passenger operations; not only executive trains but also charity events and excursions.
